Today 3/11/07 Darkcrystal Amanda (Mia) gave birth to her kittens.

Sadly her first delivery wasnt very easy going. She struggled to give birth to the kitten who was on the large side and breech. He ended up getting stuck and it took her quite some time to deliver him. Sadly when she did he had died. We tried to revive him but to no avail.

She then gave birth to two healthy kittens each weighing in at 111g and 120g respectively. We think they are both boys although one of the boys MAY be a girl he is a little undecided at the moment.

Mia is a lot more settled now with her babies. She was a little shocked and traumatized at the beginning due to the first stressful delivery but is recovering well and has been checked over by the vets. They gave her some Oxytocin just to make sure there was nothing left inside her and to help her womb contract back to normal a little quicker.

We will post updates weekly as to how the kittens are getting on and post photo's so you can see their development and how they are growing.

13/11/07 Mia's babies are now 1 week and 2 days old. They have both got their eyes open and they are getting fatter by the day. They are the image of their dad right now and absolutely gorgeous.

We will be posting some new pictures in the next few days. We are just giving their little eyes chance to become accustomed to the light.

 

17/11/07 Mia's babies are 2 weeks old today and are really little porkers. They are absolutely gorgeous and the image of their dad still.

They have both gained over 200g in the last 2 weeks and we are delighted with that.

Here they are looking as cute as ever.
